Judges

On reading a contemptuous judgement of Seamus Heaney by some Random Internet Guy.

I have noticed the ridiculous men
How they rise up like a bayonet in a bubble
How they puff themselves up into space
To deliver the judgement

The judgement is like a catapult
Set before the Castle of Truth
Bang! goes the ballista
and bip! its balsa-wood bullets

Whoosh! opens the mouth
like a culdesac drain
full of yesterday’s rain

They puff themselves up into a universe of empty space
do the ridiculous men ridiclously

Poet of the bogs
Backwoods blarney
Throw out Heaney
Into the dug ditch
Right along with
His beggar verse

Full of their own importance
Void of everything else,
They haul up their tents
Built out of immense
Sheets of nonsense,
Cough up their five cents
Then bugger off thence
These ridiculous gents
